About Me

My name is Emmett Larrison and I am an electrical engineering student at the University of Detroit Mercy with plans to graduate in 2027. I am someone who likes to understand how things work and then find a way to make them better. Engineering has always made sense to me because it combines problem solving, creativity, and real technical work. I enjoy taking concepts from class and applying them to hands on projects where I can test ideas, fix mistakes, and learn through experience.

My interest in engineering started with a curiosity about the systems around me. I liked the idea that every device or circuit has a reason for why it behaves the way it does. Over time that curiosity turned into a genuine passion for electrical engineering. I like working with microcontrollers, signal processing, digital logic, and projects that involve building and troubleshooting. I enjoy the feeling of solving a problem by breaking it down step by step and finding a clear solution.

I take my work seriously and I try to approach each project with patience and attention to detail. I am a member of Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and SEED. These organizations push me to maintain high standards and stay involved in my field. I also stay active outside of academics through Men's Club Volleyball and the Pickleball Club. These activities keep me balanced and give me a chance to work with others in a different setting.

I want to continue growing as an engineer by building strong technical skills and learning how to communicate clearly about my work. My goal is to contribute to projects that matter and to bring both problem solving and teamwork to the table. I am motivated by the idea of improving systems, creating new solutions, and being part of engineering work that has a real impact.
